A fifth-generation Texan, Gene has lived in Colorado for most of his 70-plus years.   He is a self-taught guitar player with a repertoire spanning six decades.  Sometimes described as Americana, his music includes country, folk, blues, and acoustic rock.  Before moving to Buena Vista, Gene lived and worked in Colorado Springs, where he occasionally played in coffee houses, acoustic music venues, and on public radio.  After moving to BV, Gene performed weekends through the summer at Snowy Peaks RV Park.  In 2019 he made his second trip to perform in England.   Retired, he spends his winters with family in Texas or traveling.   Gene enjoys spending time immersed in music and pursuing other hobbies, such as exploring the world and playing with big boy toys.
